2014 adalah tahun yang positif bagi MET, dengan banyak pabriknya beroperasi di Italia, tetapi juga di Jerman dan Timur Tengah.

 Panasnya cuaca lembab dengan suhu di atas rata-rata musiman disukai perkembangan jamur dan busuk, yang bisa ditanggulangi dengan menebar produk dalam satuan dengan konsentrasi ozon rendah.

Peneliti malaysian sedang mengembangkan pengobatan ozon untuk melindungi pepaya dan buah eksotis lainnya dari penyakit dan pembusukan selama penyimpanan dan transportasi.
Penyakit pasca panen mengurangi nilai dan kualitas hasil pertanian, yang menyebabkan kerugian ekonomi bagi petani dan produsen. Ini adalah isu utama bagi negara-negara agrikultur seperti Malaysia, yang mengekspor pepaya. Teknologi ini bisa membantu memaksimalkan keuntungan bagi produsen sekaligus meningkatkan keamanan dan kualitas produk pertanian bagi konsumen.
'Sungguh menyedihkan bahwa praktik saat ini terlalu bergantung pada penggunaan bahan kimia sintetis - tidak diragukan lagi karena keefektifannya. Tapi kesehatan kita juga harus dipertimbangkan,' kata Profesor Ali.
Untuk menguji efek ozon, tim mengekspos pepaya segar yang dipanen ke ozon gas selama 96 jam dan kemudian menyimpannya pada suhu dingin selama 14 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pepaya yang diobati dengan ozon memiliki aktivitas antioksidan lebih tinggi dan kadar asam askorbat lebih tinggi, beta karoten dan lycopene dibandingkan pepaya yang tidak diobati.
Tim Profesor Ali juga menemukan bahwa pengobatan ozon dapat menunda dan mengurangi kejadian antraknosa, penyakit pepaya pascapanen yang umum, dengan menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme pada permukaan buah. Ozon juga efektif menghilangkan residu fungisida.
Studi lebih lanjut menegaskan bahwa ozon memiliki efek antimikroba serupa pada buah dan sayuran yang baru dipotong, yang umumnya lebih rentan terhadap kontaminasi bakteri selama proses pemotongan.

3 cangkir gingersnap cookies halus 1/2 gelas gula merah keemasan 2 sendok teh. jahe tanah 3/4 cangkir mentega tawar, meleleh 2 cangkir sorbet grapefruit *, sedikit melunak 1 gelas melon sorbet *, sedikit melunak 2 cangkir Salad Buah Tropis Sun Kaya, potong dadu kelapa manis parut, panggang

Recipe Method:
  1. Combine gingersnap cookie crumbs, brown sugar, and ginger in large bowl. Stir in melted butter. Press over bottom and up sides of 9" spring form pan. Freeze until firm, about 20 minutes.
  2. Spread grapefruit sorbet in crust; freeze for 20 minutes. Spread melon sorbet over grapefruit sorbet. Freeze 30 additional minutes.
  3. Remove pan sides from dessert. Place dessert on platter. Spoon fruit on top of sorbet. Sprinkle with coconut and serve.
